ACC/AGS/NIA Workshop on Multimorbidity in Older Adults with CVD: Workshop Website
On February 9-10, 2015, the American College of Cardiology (ACC), in collaboration with the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) and National Institute on Aging (NIA), convened a Workshop at ACC’s Heart House in Washington, DC, focusing on the complex issues involved in caring for older adults with CVD and multiple coexisting conditions. The overarching goals of the Workshop were to identify unmet needs, formulate a research agenda, and discuss strategies for translating new research findings into clinical practice, ultimately leading to improved patient-centered care and outcomes for the growing population of older adults with CVD and multiple chronic conditions. Workshop attendees included senior leaders from the cardiology, geriatrics, and nursing communities, representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations (NIA, NHLBI, AHRQ, CMS, FDA, PCORI, NQF, DHHS, ABIM, the John A. Hartford Foundation, and others), industry partners, and selected early career investigators and future leaders in cardiology and geriatrics. In order to disseminate Workshop materials more broadly, conference organizers have created a website, http://www.accagsniamultimorbidityworkshop.com, that includes details about the Workshop, the Workshop agenda, copies of all presentation slides, and a list of all conference participants. These materials are being made available at no charge to all interested individuals and organizations.
