ACC Voices For Global Health
The ACC continues to be recognized as an international leader in the fight to improve cardiovascular care worldwide. Recently, John Gordon Harold, MD, MACC, past president of the ACC, was named chair of the Partner’s Council of the World Heart Federation (WHF) for 2016, with Thomas Gaziano, MD, elected to assume this position in 2017. The Council is comprised of the leading member organizations that support the activities of WHF and is charged with identifying strategies for WHF member organizations to leverage WHF advocacy tools in their global activities. In addition, ACC International Affairs Director Neal Kovach was elected to the NCD Alliance Steering Group. The Steering Group provides management, strategic leadership, and financial oversight to the NCD Alliance.
