JACC: Case Reports Highlights CVD in Women
The newest issue of JACC: Case Reports is entirely dedicated to the topic of cardiovascular disease in women.
The issue features clinical cases and imaging vignettes on women of all ages presenting with cardiovascular disease; a mini focus issue on peripartum cardiomyopathies; and three stimulating Viewpoint papers discussing the value of obstetrics and gynecologic history in uncovering cardiovascular disease risk factors, implementing a women's cardiovascular health training program in a cardiovascular disease fellowship, and challenges and potential cardiovascular consequences for women of modern societies.
In a Leadership Page, ACC Vice President Athena Poppas, MD, FACC, outlines the importance of improving the cardiovascular health and quality of health care for women, and how various challenges can be addressed.
