Professional Bio:
Howard T. Walpole, Jr., MD, MBA, FACC, FSCAI Howard Walpole is an interventional cardiologist at Northside Cardiovascular Institute. He is a former Vice President of Clinical Effectiveness and Medical Affairs at Northeast Georgia Health System. Dr. Walpole practiced interventional cardiology for many years and served as managing partner of Saint Thomas Heart in Nashville, Tennessee. He also served as Chief of Cardiac Sciences at Saint Thomas Hospital. Dr. Walpole received his BS degree in Microbiology from the University of Georgia and his MD degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University. He also completed general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Emory University. He obtained an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology. Dr. Walpole is active in the American College of Cardiology where he served as Treasurer in 2018-2020. He previously served as governor of the Tennessee Chapter and was a member of the ACC Board of Trustees. He is the program director of the ACC’s Cardiovascular Summit. He is a former chairman of the ACC Political Action Committee and currently serves as Chairman of the Medaxiom Board of Managers.
