Poll Results: ORBITA Trial Impact
The most recent poll on the Invasive Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions Clinical Topic Collection asked potential respondents what, if any, impact they have observed as a result of the ORBITA (Objective Randomised Blinded Investigation With Optimal Medical Therapy of Angioplasty in Stable Angina) trial, which was presented 1 year ago.
The results overwhelmingly show that the respondents saw little impact in percutaneous coronary intervention volume. Nearly 90% noted no impact of ORBITA on procedure decisions. Two percent actually suggested an increase, and 8% observed a decrease.
The ORBITA trial has generated many heated debates, particularly on social media, but the results of this poll suggest that the trial's results have had little clinical impact.
