ACC to Expand International Regional Conference Program to Asia Pacific in 2017

This year, the ACC initiated its inaugural International Regional Conference Program with events held in Latin America and the Middle East. The conferences were exceptionally successful, making substantial impacts in their respective regions by leveraging the College’s International Chapter network to convene area cardiovascular societies and construct locally relevant, practical and innovative regional educational programming.

Building on the success of these pilot regional conferences, the ACC will expand the program to include an Asia Pacific conference in 2017, in addition to events being held in Latin America and the Middle East. The dates and locations of the 2017 International Regional Conference Program are as follows:

  • ACC Latin America Regional Conference
    Mexico City, Mexico
    June 22 – 24, 2017
  • ACC Middle East Regional Conference
    Dubai, United Arab Emirates
    Oct. 19 – 21, 2017
  • ACC Asia Pacific Regional Conference
    Shanghai, China
    Dec. 1 – 3, 2017

Each conference will introduce new innovations and educational material from the ACC and partnering local cardiology societies. Collaboration is a key theme of the 2017 program. The Middle East regional conference will occur in partnership with the Emirates Cardiac Society annual congress, and, for the first time, the ACC will partner with all of the major cardiovascular societies in the Asia Pacific region for the inaugural conference in Shanghai.

“The ACC’s international mission is to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease worldwide. In order to achieve that mission, we need to reach people in the regions where they live and practice,” said Richard A. Chazal, MD, FACC, ACC president. “Embodying that mission is the primary purpose of the regional conference program, and we are honored to learn from our partners around the world who make these meetings a success.”
