International Expansion: New International Chapter in Peru

This May, Peru became ACC’s 36th International Chapter, under the leadership of Jaime Espinoza, MD, FACC, and thanks in part to the efforts of the president of the Peruvian Society of Cardiology, Jose Manuel Sosa, MD, FACC. Espinoza considers this partnership a great opportunity to increase the exchange of science and knowledge between the Peruvian cardiologists and the ACC and to improve cardiovascular care in Peru. “We are committed to increasing awareness and efficiency in addressing the cardiovascular health challenges our country is facing, such as hypertension,” says Espinoza. “The Peruvian Society of Cardiology and our new ACC Peru Chapter will work together to find solutions to better address cardiovascular issues in our countries,” he adds.
