Black women in the U.S. are 60% more likely to develop hypertensive disorders of pregnancy compared with non-Hispanic white women, according to a recent editorial published in Medpage Today. To address this issue, Cornelia Graves, MD, and Eleni Tsigas, MD, highlight the work of the Racial Disparities Task Force to develop an action plan that places an emphasis on improving outcomes in Black women experiencing hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
