September is Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Awareness Month! PAD affects about 10 million Americans. Despite its severe consequences and prognostic importance, PAD continues to be underrecognized and undertreated, with significant racial, socioeconomic and geographic disparities. ACC is offering a free online course, Peripheral Artery Disease: Optimizing Treatment Strategies, to help providers identify signs and symptoms of PAD, develop treatment plans, and better understand the prevalence of PAD. Additionally, Cardio Smart's PAD Condition Center provides tools and resources to share with patients so that they can better understand their condition and facilitate shared decision-making conversations between patients and providers.
