Fasting vs. No Fasting Prior to Percutaneous CV Procedures

Data regarding fasting prior to elective percutaneous cardiovascular procedures are limited. M. Haisum Maqsood, MD, MS, et al., conducted a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials to compare safety and patient satisfaction with no fasting vs. fasting before percutaneous cardiovascular procedures, and their findings suggest that no fasting is a reasonable option for patients undergoing these procedures.
