Kandzari, MD, FACC writes about the potential of renal denervation (RDN) as treatment for hypertension alongside pharmaceutical therapies and lifestyle interventions. “Early clinical trial experience related to procedural technique, medication variability and both patient and endpoint selection have informed the revision of trial design and conduct leading to a new generation of randomized, sham-controlled trials involving RDN,” Kandzari writes. “Overall, these studies have demonstrated significant blood pressure reductions following RDN using two different treatment methods, both in the presence and absence of antihypertensive drug therapy.” Read the full article in Cardiology.
