The ACC is excited to announce the launch of its new Critical Care Cardiology Member Section! Where once the coronary care unit treated primarily patients with acute coronary syndrome, modern cardiac intensive care units (CICU) care for much more diverse group of patients with cardiac and noncardiac critical illnesses. This new Section acknowledges the changing landscape of the CICU and the need for cardiovascular professionals with critical care expertise.

Section members will play an integral role in promoting education, training, clinical care excellence, policy development and research within the maturing field of critical care cardiology, as well as multi-societal collaboration.
