ACC Seeks Comments on Management of Bleeding in Patients on Oral Anticoagulation Document
The ACC is seeking comments on a draft of the 2017 Expert Consensus Decision Pathway on Management of Bleeding in Patients on Oral Anticoagulation. This decision pathway provides guidance for clinicians regarding the management of bleeding in patients treated with oral anticoagulants (both vitamin K antagonists and direct oral anticoagulants). The pathway considers the severity of the bleed (major vs. non-major), acute medical and surgical management, the need for reversal, the appropriateness and time of restarting anticoagulation, and the impact of co-morbidities and concomitant drug therapy. Comments are due by Thursday, May 4. Access the document and public comment response form here and submit comments to pathwaycomment@acc.org.
