My Fellow Fellows: A Letter on ACC.20/WCC Virtual From J.D. Serfas, MD
My Fellow Fellows,
I know that you are, like me, disappointed that you won't be able to share your science, network and learn in person at ACC.20 Together With World Congress of Cardiology (ACC.20/WCC). However, with the COVID-19 epidemic, there's no doubt that canceling the conference was a difficult but necessary measure to protect the health of our members.
But that doesn't mean we can't benefit together from all the great content that the ACC.20/WCC faculty have been working on for the past several months.
The ACC has been hard at work to create a virtual experience that leverages new technologies, educational formats and more to bring ACC.20/WCC Virtual directly to cardiovascular clinicians and other key stakeholders worldwide.
The free ACC.20/WCC Virtual Experience will take place Saturday, March 28 – Monday, March 30 and will offer three days of science and learning, with "live" access to 23 educations sessions that include Late-Breaking Clinical Trials, Featured Clinical Research, Young Investigator Awards and keynotes.
You'll hear from ACC President Richard Kovacs, MD, FACC, and get a chance to hear from incoming ACC President Athena Poppas, MD, FACC. We will also be honoring our Distinguished Awardees and new FACCs and AACCs. More details on other exciting activities, as well as how to get involved, will be available soon.
We encourage you to mark your calendars and join us in real-time for all the events and engage in conversations on social media (#ACC20/#WCCardio) and ACC's Member Hub. Get more information and answers to our Frequently Asked Questions.
In related news, the ACC FIT Leadership Council is working to bring you some of the FIT-specific content that had been planned for the in-person ACC.20/WCC meeting.
While this content may not be included in the ACC.20/WCC Virtual Experience, it will eventually be provided across a variety of virtual platforms in the weeks and months to come – and I'll be sure to keep you posted in future editions of the newsletter. Stay tuned!
Looking forward to "seeing" you at the Virtual Experience,
J.D. Serfas, MD
