JACC Leadership Page: Uncovering the Real Power and Value Behind ACC Membership
In a new Leadership Page published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, ACC President Richard J. Kovacs, MD, FACC, discusses the importance of the professional bond that exists among members of the College. "[W]e are something bigger than ourselves," he writes. "We are one family, one team, one College, diligently working to improve care, push back barriers when needed, and share what we learn and know with each other." He also reflects on a few of his own relationships that have been forged through the ACC and what they have meant to him both professionally and personally. Kovacs writes that his primary goal for the next year is to "leverage the inherent power and value of the ACC in delivering on our new five-year Strategic Plan." This goal will be accomplished by increasing diversity and inclusion, ensuring safety, and continuing to adapt to changes. Read more.
