Purpose: The purpose of the ACC CathPCI Bleeding Risk Calculator App is to quickly provide a bleeding risk stratification score for patients undergoing PCI. Patients' risks are compared against nationwide data from the ACC CathPCI Registry. Cardiologists and other clinicians can use the app when discussing risks and benefits of the PCI procedure with patients, thereby providing them with individualized risk scores for bleeding. This information can also be used in multidisciplinary team discussions or consultations when reviewing complex patient cases and needing to account for bleeding events. No identifiable patient information is stored on the app, so patient privacy is maintained.

Cost: Free.

Size: 6.1 MB on Android and 14.7MB on iOS.

Compatibility: The app is available from the iTunes or Google Play app stores. If downloading from iTunes, the app requires iOS 8.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. If downloading from Google Play, the app requires an Android 4.1 and up.

Target Audience: The intended target audience for this app is cardiologists, especially interventional cardiologists and fellows who will be reviewing patients' bleeding risks prior to PCI. Other physicians and clinicians involved with patient care would also benefit from the calculator to help mitigate and plan for bleeding events.

Neat Feature: The risk model for which the app's calculator is based on was developed using CathPCI Registry data. An ACC Work Group, along with ACC's Science and Quality Committee, meticulously designed and tested the app with target audiences over multiple rounds.

Comparable Apps: There are no other apps in the iTunes or Google Play stores comparable to this app.
