ACC President Cathleen Biga, MSN, FACC, and Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) President Kenneth A. Ellenbogen, MD, FACC, joined other advocacy leaders from both societies in meeting with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' officials to seek the addition of cardiac ablation services to the ambulatory surgical center (ASC) covered procedures list in the 2025 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System Final Rule. The ACC and HRS have advocated for the inclusion of these services, and although they were not included in the proposed rule, efforts on this front continue. The ACC will use information gleaned from this meeting to continue pushing for this change in the final rule, which will be released later this year.
