JACC Leadership Page Outlines ACC Advocacy Efforts on Restrictive Covenants
The ACC has undertaken several efforts to learn how restrictive covenants and noncompetes impact cardiovascular clinicians and advocate on behalf of members, according to a recent JACC Leadership Page. B. Hadley Wilson, MD, FACC; Joseph E. Marine, MD, MBA, FACC; and J. Jeffrey Marshall, MD, FACC, delve into the timeline of ACC involvement on this issue, including the development of a Board of Governor's (BOG) workgroup, a survey administered to BOG and MedAxiom physician leaders, and ACC Advocacy engagement both at the national and state level. "The story of ACC's involvement in the issue of noncompetes showcases the power of ACC members to identify important issues and effect change on behalf of cardiovascular patients and the profession," they write.
