New ACC Member Benefit: Get Help With Fulfilling New DEA Training Requirement
As of June 27, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is mandating that all DEA-registered practitioners complete a new one-time, eight-hour training requirement on the treatment or management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders. Practitioners will need to report completion of the training when enrolling or renewing their online DEA registration. The ACC is partnering with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) to provide ACC members with an affordable option to meet the new requirement. Clinicians can use the discount code ACC30 to get 30% off ASAM's Fundamentals of Addiction Medicine course. Other discounted or free resources may also be available through state medical societies, hospitals, health systems and/or practice groups to help with meeting the new requirements.
