Emerging Research Directions in ACHD
In a recent Review Topic of the Week, published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Michelle Gurvitz, MD, MS, FACC, et al., discuss the high-priority research topics for adult congenital heart disease (ACHD), as identified by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute/American Heart Association working group. “Based on expert opinion and published research priorities in CHD” the areas of heart failure, vascular disease and multi-system complications were identified as areas for further research and collaboration. According to Gurvitz, et al., “the research areas proposed by the working group are important areas of focus … with the goal of increasing the evidence base for care and providing a foundation for lasting and meaningful assessment of the future.” Read more.
