Poll: CULPRIT-Shock Trial
The randomized CULPRIT-Shock (Culprit Lesion Only PCI Versus Multivessel PCI in Cardiogenic Shock) trial has received much discussion regarding methodology. As presented, the results demonstrated a combined mortality and renal risk for patients with acute myocardial infraction and cardiogenic shock who underwent complete revascularization including chronic total occlusions (CTOs) during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Some have noted that this will change practice, but other commenters have suggested that selective decision-making would have yielded different results and will not change their practice.
