The 40th anniversary of PCI, the 15th anniversary of TAVR, the latest in pediatric interventional cardiology and late-breaking clinical research are among the highlights for interventional cardiologists at ACC.18 in Orlando in March.

“The comprehensive scientific sessions include practical learning and the latest cutting-edge scientific results – along with a great opportunity to link with colleagues and exchange tips, ideas and advice,” says Roxana Mehran, MD, FACC, topic coordinator within the ACC.18 Program Committee for the Intervention Learning Pathway.

As always, the Intervention Learning Pathway will provide participants with a broad range of sessions on topics related to cutting-edge technology and techniques, everyday dilemmas, challenges with complex or simple coronary and structural heart disease, and more. Interventional experts, as well as leaders from other specialty areas, will facilitate discussion and debate through live case presentations, expert panels, and in-depth Q&A sessions.

“The focus on learning and information exchange is amplified in the sessions which are thought-provoking, educational and discussion-based. Don’t miss this once-a-year review of all that you need to know in interventional cardiology,” says topic co-coordinator Duane S. Pinto, MD, MPH, FACC.

ACC.18 will also include keynote lectures featuring luminaries from the interventional field, including John P. Cheatham, MD, FACC, and Bernhard Meier, MD, FACC. Additionally, Fellows in Training (FITs) and Early Career Professionals interested in interventional cardiology will want to make time to attend the Fellows Bootcamp focused on the topics of structural heart disease management, coronary disease management and peripheral vascular disease. There will also be broader opportunities for FITs and Early Career Professionals to network and engage with their peers on topics such as scholarship, education, work/life balance and more.

Late-Breaking Clinical Trials (LBCT) are a hallmark of ACC’s Annual Scientific Session – providing participants with unique opportunities to hear from lead investigators first-hand about the latest practice-changing research. ACC.18 will feature five LBCT sessions, with an interventional-focused LBCT session scheduled for Monday of the meeting. ODYSSEY and VEST will kick off the LBCT sessions immediately following the Opening Showcase Session on Saturday.

For interventional professionals needing Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credit, ACC.18 will provide dual CME/MOC credit, as well as credit for nurses, pharmacists and European Board for Accreditation in Cardiology credit.
