Heart House Roundtable and Patient Forum

The ACC's Accelerating Innovation for Medical Excellence in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (AIME HCM) initiative is designed to amplify education, research efforts, clinical guidance and practical tools to increase awareness and understanding of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and optimize treatment and outcomes. As part of this initiative, the ACC is organizing a Heart House Roundtable and Patient Forum.

The Advances in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Virtual Roundtable took place on June 8, 2021 and convened over 45 multidisciplinary stakeholders from a broad range of expertise and backgrounds with a common interest in helping to close gaps in HCM care. Together they discussed the roles of interdisciplinary and intersystem treatment, standard and novel therapeutics, and opportunities in population health. The goals of the Roundtable were to identify and address opportunities and challenges in the delivery of guideline-directed HCM care, as well as to define forward looking patient-focused innovations.

The Heart House Patient Forums are part of ACC's ongoing commitment to advance the quality, equity and value of cardiovascular care. Integral to this strategic goal is the need to explore and understand the patient experience, including important gaps across the care continuum. The insights gleaned during the patient forums help the ACC and partnering organizations shape the solution sets and tools for cardiologists, primary care providers and patients to help advance the management of cardiovascular disease. The Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Virtual Patient Forum took place on June 3, 2021.
