Practical Tools and Care After a Hypertensive Disorder of Pregnancy

There is a critical need to improve cardiovascular care for individuals with a history of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality and future cardiovascular risk.
This webinar will focus on the review of a recently published toolkit by the ACC: Postpartum Hypertension Clinic Development Toolkit. Our panel of experts will discuss different successful clinic models and postpartum remote blood pressure monitoring programs used to care for individuals with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy after delivery, during the fourth trimester, which can be adapted to fit a variety of systems of care.

- Understand the association of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy with persistent postpartum hypertension and long-term cardiovascular risk
- Understand how to develop a postpartum hypertension clinic with different example programs from multiple institutions
- Understand the impact of home blood pressure monitoring programs on blood pressure management and on reducing postpartum disparities
