Lp(a): What You Can Do Now — Current Insights and Future Directions in Cardiovascular Health

Webinar Overview

This webinar explores the significance of Lp(a) and risk for cardiovascular disease. Discussion topics include the approaches to cardiovascular risk assessment, how to treat elevated Lp(a), and new therapies on the horizon for this condition. Primary and secondary prevention cases will be discussed and open to our audience for discussion with faculty. This activity is part of the Elevating Lp(a) Awareness: Bridging the CVD Risk Knowledge Gap grant with support from Novartis.

Key Objectives/Learning Outcomes:

  1. Define key terminology related to Lp(a) and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).
  2. Review the unique role of Lp(a) as a genetic determinant for ASCVD risk and special considerations including high risk racial and gender groups.
  3. Recognize the specific importance of Lp(a) levels and testing in cardiovascular health from general lipids.
