Call For Applications: ACC Educator Fundamental Skills Course

Call for Applications

The American College of Cardiology (ACC) is accepting applications for the ACC Educator: Fundamental Skills course scheduled for Jan. 26 – 28, 2025, at ACC's Heart House in Washington, DC. Applications are due by Monday, Sept. 23, 2024.

ACC Educator: Fundamental Skills, chaired by Marty Tam, MD, MHPE, FACC and Rhonda Cooper-DeHoff, PharmD, MS, FACC, will provide experiential learning and feedback to enhance presentation skills and explore opportunities to practice and advance your skills as a clinical educator. After successful completion of this course, you will be empowered to develop and deliver engaging educational content as part of activities aligned with the ACC's educational mission.

As part of your participation in this course experience, you will prepare and present a brief, case-based presentation to faculty leaders and peers for feedback. In mid-December there will be one pre-course webinar to review course expectations and discuss the case-based presentation participation requirement so that you may prepare for this important part of the learning experience.

Applications are due by Monday, Sept. 23, 2024. A small cohort of learners will be selected in October, with a notification sent to all applicants via email.

This course is designed for cardiology fellows in training (FITs) currently in an ACGME-accredited cardiovascular disease (CVD) fellowship or FITs that have completed an ACGME-accredited CVD fellowship program and are currently in a cardiovascular medicine related sub-specialty fellowship program.

Exceptional talent and dedication to evolving one's teaching skills will guide the selection of participants. The ACC Educator: Fundamental Skills Planning Committee will review all applications and make the final selection of participants. Applicant decisions will be shared in October.
