Be on the alert in July for e-mail notices about FITForum.org, the new discussion bulletin board for fellows in training. Take the time to join an ongoing discussion or start a new topic. Be prepared to voice an opinion. Read your peers’ and colleagues’ comments and add your thoughts. The bulletin board is scheduled to be up and running by the end of July.

Fellows in training are strongly encouraged to attend the Annual Legislative Conference, Sept. 17 – 19, 2006, in Washington, D.C. Take advantage of this opportunity to join other ACC members in meeting with members of Congress. The ACC has made fifteen $1,000 travel awards available for the Legislative Conference to cover airfare, hotel and other expenses. Application deadline is July 9. Awards will be announced July 10. The Fellows in Training column in Cardiology magazine has attracted a lot of attention in the last few months from F.A.C.C. members who have responded to its provocative topics and discussions. We need to keep interest high in FIT member concerns, ideas and issues. In July Cardiology, look for Beckerman’s column about medicine in the former Soviet Union.
