Target Audience
iScience is intended for all professionals involved in delivering
cardiovascular care, with particular emphasis on physicians,
scientists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses,
pharmacists and practice administrators. Medical students
and trainees, technicians, dietitians and other health care
professionals also will benefit.
Content captured from the i2 Summit 2009 is intended for
interventional cardiologists and radiologists, general cardiologists
and cardiovascular surgeons, vascular specialists, scientists
and clinical trialists. While much of the program content
is specially geared to the worldwide community of interventional
physicians and scientists, other health care professionals
including medical students and trainees, nurse practitioners,
physician assistants, nurses and technicians will also benefit
from the depth and diversity of the program.
Program Goals/Purpose
The overall goal of this product is to provide needs-based
education that is independent of commercial interests and
fosters changes in target audience knowledge, competence and
performance to ultimately improve patient outcomes. Specific
goals include:
1. Knowledge — to disseminate knowledge
of optimal cardiovascular care, cardiovascular disease prevention
and improvements in cardiovascular patient outcomes.
2. Competence — to foster the translation
of evidence-based cardiovascular science and interventional
concepts and techniques into daily clinical practice.

by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
