Membership Requirements

Requirements for Fellows

Applicants are required to:

  • Have completed cardiovascular training
  • Be established and recognized in their communities as outstanding consultants or scientists
  • Demonstrate that 75% of current practice is related to cardiovascular medicine
  • Have a current medical license in the country where they practice
  • Present two letters of sponsorship*

Additional requirements include one or more of the following:

  1. Local board certification

    OR


  2. A leadership Position in the hospital or institution
 

Requirements for Associate Fellows

Applicants are required to:

  • Have completed cardiovascular training and be in the early stage of their careers
  • Demonstrate that 75% of current practice is related to cardiovascular medicine
  • Have a current medical license in the country where they practice
  • Present two letters of sponsorship*


Additional requirements include one or more of the following:

  1. Local board certification

    OR


  2. A leadership position in the
    hospital or institution
 

Requirements for International Associate Member

Applicants are required to:

  • Have completed five years of medical training, including 24 months of formal cardiology training
  • Be established in practice or academia for a minimum of 6 months
  • Demonstrate that 50% of current practice is related to cardiovascular medicine
  • Present one letter of sponsorship from any Fellow, Associate Fellow, or Member of the American College of Cardiology.

Member Dues

ACC has approved a tiered dues structure for 2009 based on the country’s economic status. Members have the option of choosing between receiving the Journal of the American College of Cardiology in hard copy, or for a lower dues rate opting to receive JACC on-line only.
