Professional Bio:

one of the most recognizable figures in the fields of diabetes,Cardio-Metabolic disorders, lipid disorders, hypertension, heart failure, ischemic heart disease, rhythm disorders and preventive cardiology. He is Professor of Medicine at the University of California–San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine ,Fresno,CA. Dr. Deedwania is also Director of Cardiovascular Research for the UCSF Fresno–Central San Joaquin Valley Medical Education Program and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Stanford University in Palo Alto. Dr. Deedwania is a fellow of the American Heart association, American college of Cardiology, American College of Chest Physician, American College of Physician, Heart Failure Society of America, and European Society of Cardiology. He has served as Chair of the Executive Committee of the Laennec Society of the American Heart Association and he is currently President of the California Chapter of the American Society of Hypertension. Dr. Deedwania is Past President of the International Society for Holter and Noninvasive Electrocardiology (ISHNE). He is a member of several writing groups including the ACC/AHA Practice Guidelines on Chronic Stable Angina and Ambulatory ECG Monitoring . He also serves on the Practice Guidelines Committee of the Heart Failure Society of America. He recently served on the joint writing group of AHA/ADA/ACC for the position statement on intensive glucose control in patients with diabetes..He has served as a member of Annual Scientific Program committees of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Failure Society of America,Heart Rhythm Society,and currently serves on the annual Scientific Program committee of the American Heart Association. He is currently Chair, AHA Diabetes Committee and Co Chair of ACC CardioMetabolic working group. He is also serving as a member of the AHA /ADA Diabetes initiative. Dr. Deedwania has authored numerous landmark clinical trials and has authored or co-authored more than 550 publications, including journal articles, book chapters and abstracts. Dr. Deedwania also serves on the editorial boards of numerous journals. He is an Associate Editor of the Annals of Noninvasive Cardiology and Senior Editor of Congestive Heart Failure and has served as Guest Editor for Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Deedwania is frequently invited as a Visiting Professor and lectures regularly both nationally and internationally at Major Scientific Congresses.
